Kids Bathroom ORC Week 4

So I’m late in posting this.  There are many reasons.  I am indecisive for one.  The bead board is a big fat failure and I’ll explain that in a few minutes.  My success for the week was finding some accessories and frames from Kohls, that I am using for some free seashell prints I printed off from .   The frames are so yummy and beachy with the seashell prints, they make me extremely happy.   It’s hard to get a good photo in this room right now with the main lights missing.

After agonizing for weeks, I decided to go with the colorful shower curtain because I love it, and the kids really don’t care which one I use in there.  Ok, well maybe I haven’t decided, it’s still going to be a last minute decision with the shower curtain.  Ugh.

And now, let’s talk about the bead board.   You would think that after installing this stuff in a few homes and not just our own, we would have noticed the extra shiny quality of this bead board.  No, we were blinded by the good deal (or maybe it was the bead board) and failed to realize that this wasn’t the bead board we have used in the past.  It is mirror like, so shiny and reflective, not exactly qualities you want in a bead board.  You can see it’s oh so shiny quality in this picture.

The holes where the hubby used his air nailer to attach it are not patching well, the nail hole filler rubs right off and the primer does not stick to the extra piece I tried it on.

So now what?  I don’t really want to spend much money on this bathroom but I love the white and aqua, so, time for some good ol’ board and batten, thank you !

We are old pros at this, evidenced by our current powder room, along with the bub’s bedroom and dining room in our old house.

So this is what the bathroom looks like currently.  Oh wait, it’s looked like this since last week.  Guess we’ll have to kick er’ down and get ‘er done next weekend!

Make sure you stop by and check out all the progress the bloggers have made on one of the hardest weeks, week 4!
