I’m popping in quick to remind you that GFC is going away for me this week as I am in the process of getting a blog redesign and moving to WordPress. You can follow me through RSS feed, email or fb which is all located on the right hand side of the blog.
You would think with a blog redesign and moving to WP going on and just finishing the bub’s room last week that I wouldn’t be diving into anything else. Well I like to keep busy as I started painting the family room/kitchen and front entryway yesterday. The color I chose is which is a very light light gray. There were a few other colors I debated on but Gray Owl was showing up as a true gray compared to the other choices like Coventry Gray, Stonington Gray and MS Bedford Gray.
Here are a few shots from this morning, it’s cloudy out so not the best light for taking picture and my house is obviously not ready for a photo shoot so I threw some stuff up on the mantle and called it good.
Yesterday I was unsure of the color but I do like it today. Usually I go for bold colors so having a light color is quite a change for me. One of the only things the hubby and I don’t like is that the white trim doesn’t seem to pop like it did with the beige that was already on the walls. What do you think?
Next up is trying the Ektorp in here vs the leather. I moved the blue chair out of the corner and tried an ektorp. Stay tuned for more updates on the ever evolving family room! I’ll be back tomorrow to share about a great gift I received in the mail this week.
I love it!!!! Great choice….I might have to copy and paint my bedroom this color.
Xx. Patience
i love that color! when i finally get to painting my master i think i am using that.
I love it Ange! It is so beautiful and actually I think the white trim still does pop against the new paint color. Obviously not as much as when there is a darker color on the walls but it is just a lovely soft transition from the white to the gray. Well done!

Looks fab! Share what you mean by 'true gray'. Like it doesn't trend towards greige, or no blue undertones…let's hear it. I want to do a true gray in my family room, so if someone can help me narrow it down I'm grateful! XOXO
That color is beautiful! It's seems like it will go with a lot. =)
Beautiful color! It looks like the kind of shade I want for our office, so I'm glad you showed it!
I like your Gray Owl so much better than mine! It does seem paler and more of a true gray, unlike my sky blue hue. The trim/mantle around your fireplace are so pretty. I like the white trim, but I understand about it not "popping." I repainted some of my white trim with some Decorator White by Behr that I had on hand and the brighter white makes a difference in my opinion. It could also just be that my trim is old and dirty and needed a new coat of white?!?!
I love the color. Gray Owl is one of my favorite colors. I have yet to be able to use it, but I have tried on more than a few occasions. I love it with the white trim.
I actually really love it. I think the contrast between the trim is nice too. Not as much as you might be used to but it works and looks great!
Ange, I love the Gray Owl in your home! I think it looks great next to the white trim and the Ektorp chair.
ooooh I'm liking the Gray Owl Ange! Especially with the white chair in there – so pretty!
That's a lovely colour, it reminds me very much of the colour I have in my living room (Dulux Dusted Moss) and the white looks lovely against it, definitely pops! xxx
