Road Tripping Part 1

Marriage Monday will be back soon! We are on vacation and I’m sure that will give us lots of great things to talk about for Marriage Mondays, so until then, here is a little taste of our vacation.

Tonight I am sitting in a hotel room in the beautiful city of Charleston South Carolina.  We’ve been on the road since last Friday, driving to Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Savannah and now Charleston.   I won’t bore you with all 633 pictures I’ve snapped so far but I did want to just share a few from our trip up to this point.  I also wanted to share some from the Haven Conference and maybe you’ll even recognize a few faces!

This man has been a great pilot on our adventure.  He puts up with me putting on my imaginary brakes when traffic is tight, yelling watch out when there is nothing to watch out for, hanging onto the “oh poop” handle and squishing down in my seat freaking looking out at the mountains.

The kids did an AWESOME job traveling in the car.  They did get to watch a movie or two and played on their DS for a while but we tried to limit screen time.  Look at how packed this vehicle is!

We even have headphones for everyone, J-man thought his were the bomb, he wanted to wear them all the time.  He made me laugh when he was wearing them, he was very serious.

Nashville was a blast!  The zoo there is fabulous, we were there for five hours on a very hot day.  We also stopped into the Opryland Hotel and that was great as well.  Thankfully we left the Opryland Hotel about half an hour before an explosion went off inside from natural gas!  Yikes!  A miracle that no one was hurt!   After Nashville it was time for Atlanta and the Haven Conference!

My first spotting was in the Lobby, !  I met my roomies and .  Here we are, together!

We ended up missing our pre-party dinner at The Cheesecake Factory with about 15 other bloggers, including my favorite, Heather & Vanessa At the Picket Fence and Cassie from Primitive & Proper.   Instead we were at a different cheesecake factory and ended up meeting two bloggers, Jessica from and Karah from .  Wednesday night there was a cocktail party which at first felt much like a high school dance, after some alcohol for some and maybe just time, we were mingling and talking the night away.  Everyone I talked with had a hard time sleeping Wednesday night, including Andrea and myself.  Thursday morning the conference kicked off with

While I was busy at the conference, my hubby was busy taking care of four children.  They went swimming, to an arcade and mini golfing, to the mall, BWW, Madagascar 3 and Chucky Cheese.  He’s a brave one, even I wouldn’t take 4 kids to Chucky Cheese.  I snuck out a few times to visit with them and managed to snap a pic of them at the pool.

The J-man looks crazy with is goggles and arm floaties on.  I can’t help but laugh every time I see this picture!  His face is all squishy from the goggles and they maybe make his head look kind of big.

I’ll be back to share more of Haven and our road trip.  Just wanted to end with these two things.  Have you ever heard of ?  We laugh so hard, he is such a funny guy!  Please go check him out if you have never heard of him before, good clean humor and definitely funny, make your mouth hurt from laughing funny!  (He is a christian but is not preachy and in fact does a good job of poking fun at Christians).  We purchased this CD for the road trip and the kids love it!  (So do the parents).

We had our first experience in Franklin Tennessee and now we are hooked!  So, I’d like to dedicate this song to my Chick-fil-A loving friends, you know who you are!

Loved hearing about your trip!! We just drove straight thru from Ohio to Disney 2 weeks ago with our 4. Granted they are ages 6-21, but still. I laughed out loud about your imaginary brakes and holding onto the handle in the mountains. That is so me. I get sooo anxious and nervous. I am so glad you got to go to Haven. That is my goal for next year. Maybe we can meet eachother then!!! My big sis got married at the Opryland hotel last year, it was beautiful. Can’t wait to see more of your pictures!

First time visit to your blog. I’ve never been to a blog conference, but I desperately wanted to go to Haven, so I’m living vicariously through those who had the opportunity to go.

It sounds like you had a blast! Thanks for sharing!

Looks like a blast! Was the conference worth it? I’m starting to debate attending one. I was no where close to being ready to take that step last year. So cool that you met so many bloggers!! And, yep, Chick-fil-a rocks!
