After my Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations Failure, I needed to finish up the kitchen cabinets before we left on vacation. Last night when we should have been going over the packing list and stuffing more goldfish into snack bags, we were instead putting cabinet drawer fronts and doors back on the frames in the kitchen. For reasons like this, I love my husband more than he can know. He has been driving me nuts carefully checking our packing list everyday for a while now, adding things to it, asking questions and making sure we don’t forget anything. I on the other hand, prefer the wing it at the last minute approach. Somehow we have made it work, although we haven’t had to actually pack the vehicle yet, that’s when it gets a little dicey. It looks like we might be ready to go except the suitcases over there are empty and that laundry basket of clothing needs to get put away and the blue hamper of clothes, those are awaiting their turn in the washing machine.
Last night I was running around picking up last minute items like a giant dog bowl for water, deodorant and lip gloss. All very important items. I also had a fabulous time at Olive Garden with the MOPS leadership team, I’m really looking forward to this coming year!
So I snapped a few pics of the kitchen this morning to share with you. No hardware on the cabinets yet, although I know what ones I want. Martha Stewart at Home Depot in brass is where it’s at baby. I tried one little egg knob out on the drawer with the gray and I love it! These photos are spur of the morning, quick take a pic, kind of photos.
Just a reminder of what it looked like a few short months ago:
I’m liking the blue chairs with the gray, so glad I waited before deciding to change the color!
Just so you know, I threw most of the stuff that was on the counter over into the corner where the hermit crabs live, I even am throwing in a pic, just to keep it real. Now I’m off to pack, do some laundry and get ready for our first ever big family vacation!
The color of the cabinets is Desert Twilight (more of a green/gray color) by Benjamin Moore, located on the same card as the wall color, Gray Owl. I used on the bottom cabinets along with two coats of primer. So far so good! I’ll keep you updated on how they hold up as we continue to work on the kitchen. Next up, hardware, a new faucet and backsplash. Eventually new countertops, lighting and a rug. What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Unsure?
Tomorrow I’ll be back with a Blooming Blogger post and from there on out it’ll be random posting at best. If you follow me on Instagram or fb, I’m sure you’ll catch some updates and pictures of our vacation and of course HAVEN! So excited to meet my bloggy friends in real life! Are you going to be at Haven?

I love a good kitchen before and after! I also love that your top cabinets are different from the bottom ones. Are you taking that play basketball hoop with you to keep the kids busy in the car? đŸ˜‰

Great job on your cabinets! Grey looks wonderful on cabinets! Mine look like the wood color of your “before”. BLAH. The blue chairs look awesome with your grey. Think of how many fun accessories you will find that will have this color in them to tie it all together!
Wow! I love it! Nice choice on the paint colors Ange!
They look amazing. Love the grey, so fresh and clean without being boring old white {although I do love white and thats probably what I will paint mind} I love that you were brave enough to step outside of the box and it turned out fabulous!
UMMMM…It looks great! I love the dark gray on the bottom! Again, I’m jealous that someone else I “know” is going to HAVEN…
