Good evening friends. Today is another Random Thursday post where I have no plan or forethought, just some random dribble with some pictures thrown in for good measure.
Earlier today I went to IKEA with my mom, she’s in town visiting us for a few days. One of my favorite purchases today was the plastic bag holder for $1.99. I know you can make these out of fabric but really that sounds like too much work and for $1.99 all it requires of me is to peel off some sticky paper and stick this wherever I want and I’m done. No ripping out of seams, swearing, sweating and spending hours making a bag to hold my plastic bags that might end up in the trash anyways because of my frustrations in sewing. So here it is, on the inside of my pantry door. This seriously made my day, all for $1.99! This picture is deceiving, I have probably 2,000 bags in my garage waiting for a chance to be put in the IKEA bag holder.
Last night while the Youth Group Small Group was meeting at our home, the doorbell rang. I went to the door and no one was there. Strange. When the kids were leaving, someone brought in a Halloween gift bag that was sitting on our front porch. We found this cute poem inside the bag:
Also inside the bag were pencils, candy, cups and some glow sticks. We had to stick this sign in the front door
so people know we have been BOOed and then we went out tonight and BOOed two other families. It was fun sneaking around in the dark with the kids, making a plan on who would ring the doorbell, where we would hide and of course running as fast as we could! Have you ever been BOOed? If you haven’t, look it up and maybe start BOOing your neighborhood!
I can’t believe that November is almost here. I am looking forward to doing some decorating in our home for the Christmas season. I might need to start finding some crafts to pin on Pinterest, especially stuff I can do with the kids. Anyone have any good Christmas crafts to share with me?
Finally, I read a great blog post yesterday. It reminded me that I want my blog to be real and I hope that I don’t portray my life as something it’s not. I don’t have budgets of thousands of dollars to spend on my rooms in my house, I don’t have a perfect family or marriage. I want my blog to be inspiring to you and a place where you walk away feeling good about yourself and your home. Showing you projects and blogging about things that you can achieve and do in your own home. If I’m not accomplishing that, then maybe it’s time to stop blogging. So I hope you enjoy coming to see me here at The Blooming Hydrangea because I love hearing from you and visiting your blogs too. So I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll be back next week with some more great stuff to share!
I read Rachel's post and blogged about it too! =D For the record, your blog is wonderful. I love how you share your projects and they are attainable. Also, your blog has an honesty about it that is refreshing. So thanks! I'm glad we're blogging buddies! =)
Plastic bags are overtaking my life. I need to get most of them to recycling and then ORGANIZE!
Our neighborhood did the Boo thing last year. We're safe this year.
