Well the end of the Color My World Challenge is here! Thank you to and for asking me to participate in this challenge, it was an honor to say the least and I had a great time getting to meet some new bloggers as well!
It sure has been fun and challenging these past few weeks trying to incorporate chartreuse into my home. If I were to do the challenge again maybe I would pick a color that is a bit more common or at least maybe not be soo specific but say more like a light yellow-green instead of chartreuse. Last week was fabric week and I had nothing to show for it as the fabric I ordered didn’t work out properly. I decided to order more fabric, this time choosing something I LOVE even though it was on the pricey side (or at least what I consider pricey). Well this fabric turned out to be a bust as well (the pattern was too large for covering the shade) but I want to include some photos of the fabric in the room because if I had more money to spend on this, I think the fabric works pretty well in this room and I would order more and make some curtains. Here is a close up of the from fabric.com.
If things had gone according to plan, I was hoping to cover this lamp shade in this fabric.
Here’s the fabric with the rest of the room and some of my chartreuse decor.
There you have it folks! I took on the challenge of introducing a color into my home and in the end I will still say it was a success. The vase and flowers make me happy and I love the mix of the blue and green together. There is still definite motivation to find the perfect fabric for the pendant light and paint the room, just might need to take a bit to find the right fabric. I also have really enjoyed getting to know the other bloggers in this challenge and seeing how different colors can really change the look of a space.
Now it’s your turn to link up your color challenge! I’m excited to see what all the readers have done! Make sure you click on some links below to get inspired!
Aw, man! I hate when that happens. Sounds like me… I went with gray and white stripes in the end. But, good thing is, I have navy fabric elsewhere like in the chevron pillows. Whew. Anyway, love the fabric though! Too bad it didn’t work.
I am so obsessed with that fabric. My mom just bought it in the blossom colorway for pillows and I’m trying to convince her to slipcover some chairs too. I just adore this color. Tell me, is the background more yellow or chartreuse?
I never have great luck with fabric with lots of pattern. My taste changes too much, but how cool would that last one be as a table runner. Is it too pricey to use just for that?
You HAVE to keep that fabric for that room! Make two small pillows for your head chairs! It’s so perfect in there
oooh that fabric is so pretty….reminds me of a bathroom in one of my former homes. Soft and pretty. I bet you can think of something fun to do with it!
I’m so sorry that it didnt work! You’re right that fabric is awesome. What about some little pillows for the chairs or even framing it and making it into an art piece? Like this pin:
I agree with Jessamie…that fabric is perfect for your room. I hope you can find someplace to use it!
I LOVE that fabric. I’m going to use it in the blossom colorway for my daughter’s playroom (I think). That colorway looks fantastic in your room.
i think the fabric is awesome- you could cover two chairs with it and have mix and match fabric- that would look pretty cool, too!
I agree with Cassie – just 2 chairs in it would look really great!
I love the chartreuse with the blues you have in the room! It’s too bad the pattern on the fabric turned out too large – the colors are perfection. I’m sure you’ll find something to your liking eventually though! So glad to have “met” you through this challenge, too!
You have a good eye, Ange, and your color looks great with what you have so far. Your fabric is out there and you will find it – or it will find you! It will be fun to cover the pendant light.
