The Painted Buffet and Media Cabinet

A month or two ago, I came across a dresser on Craigslist that I thought might work in our bedroom. We purchased it and it has been moved from the living room, to our bedroom and finally into the dining room. She never really fit in anywhere and I think maybe she was feeling a little brown down. I finally decided to lift her spirits by giving her a little makeover. Nothing too drastic as she was kind of a classy piece but just maybe giving her a little update. Here she is before:

After some primer and three coats of paint, here she is!

My friend recently bought a dresser off of Craigslist and it came with a mirror.  She brought the mirror over to my house because I thought it might look cute with the buffet.  Here is the mirror, not sure what color to paint it or if I’m even going to use it or not.  Pretend you can’t see the dining room table covered with stuff like flashlights and plastic lemons in a bowl.  The dining room is in a state of “transition.”

I really like the lattice on the top because it ties in the dining room chairs. So I’d love your opinions on the mirror, paint it, leave it or just don’t use it at all.  I’m hoping to get a lot finished up on the dining room this weekend!

Here’s the before and then the after one  more time:

UPDATE:
Since moving into our new home, I’ve removed the top drawer and had my handsome hubby install some plywood in the bottom of where the drawer would sit.  I paint it black, he drilled some holes in the back for wires and we are now using it in our family room for media storage.

Love it Ange! Painting dressers is quite the undertaking. I love the mirror too. Wonder what it might look like whitish/grayish? Not sure what color scheme you are going for. Guess what I liked seeing even better than the dresser…you in the mirror! :) Can't wait to see the dining room reveal.

The dresser looks so rich, Ange, I love it! I like the mirror on top of the dresser. Just like Heather's comment before me, I wonder how the mirror would look painted white. It could tie in beautifully with your dining room chairs. Hmmmm…. Can't wait to see what you do. All of your transformations are so terrific.

Paint the mirror, Ang. Although, I paint everything in sight. So, take that into consideration.
